3 weeks of bacon, eggs, greens and cauliflower. There were some low energy moments early on but it seems to have evened out. It’s kind of crazy how fast the weight is going down living off of mostly meat and cheese. Hope to reach my goal in December.
Impressed by how many strong songwriters are in the Indie International songwriting contest. I’m judging the pop category again. Lots of good writers. The level is getting higher all the time. So many people know how to write tunes it seems like it’s being taught in grade school. That might even be a good idea.
As a lifelong band guy it’s a different feeling putting out a solo cd. This is self-released without a label. No tour support here. Just local gigs and a box of product. And it feels great.
Natasha and I put together this dance pop tune using words from Double Rainbow Guy’s enthusiastic youtube video. It’s her debut as a vocalist. It was a lot of fun.
One of my favorite coffeeshops is Flying Saucers. Ryan Morris, the owner, graciously invited me to play my song Flying Saucer at the most recent art opening, an exhibition of UFO inspired pieces by Sean Day.
Flying Saucer hasn’t landed on a recording yet but it’s been circling the cosmos for a while, dating back to shows with Velvet in the 90’s. It was a mini reunion as Velvet bassist Mark Prudeaux joined my on vocals.
It’s a fun night ahead with great UFO art, an eclectic group of people and I’ll sing my song ” Flying Saucer” in a 1 song performance.
A theremin video shot on location to get in the mood:
starring your truly as the artist and the beautiful and talented Natasha Blasick. Directed by W. Scott Prestwood. Originally we shot these bits for two different songs, but it looks really cool this way imho.
